Here’s a short list of items we want you to know about. Some things are required by the club, some are optional and some are required by other entities but not regulated by RC NV.
Required to Fly at RC NV Flying Sites
- Active membership with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
- Abide by the AMA Safety Code and RC NV By-Laws, rules and safety guidelines
- Up to date with RC NV club dues. Exceptions are made for those interested in joining and may fly with a current member on 3 visits.
- Have fun!
Optional Steps to Consider for Club Members
- Setup a secure profile on the RC NV website (ask John for the link). This will get you access to members only information like our club roster, special event information, club aircraft trainer checklists
- Opt-in to our email list. Anyone can do this, but club members may receive some communications meant only for club members.

Required by Outside Authorities
The FAA has extended it’s regulatory oversite to the world of Unmanned Aircraft (model aircraft). We always recommend that you do your own research to determine the steps you are required to follow, but here is list of items the FAA has mandated.
- Take the FAA T.R.U.S.T. quiz
- Register as a recreational user of unmanned aircraft
- Mark your aircraft with your FAA registration number
- Follow the Remoted I.D. rules
- Follow all Federal, State and Local regulations
